RACHEL YOUENS


Rachel Youens lives and works in New York City. A graduate of The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, (B.F.A.) and Brooklyn College, (M.F.A.), she currently teaches at Parsons School of Design. Her art criticism has appeared in The Brooklyn Rail, Now Chelsea, artcritical.com, and NY Arts Magazine. She has exhibited extensively, including Loaves and Fishes at Sideshow Gallery (Brooklyn, 2006), About Looking at Things, Gescheidle Gallery (Chicago, 2002), Volte Face, Portraits at 450 Gallery (New York, 1999), and Trace, Painting the Self after Postmodernism, 55 Mercer Gallery (New York, 1998), among others; and was awarded a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant in 2004.
