PERFORMANCE
I consider food as a priviledged medium to convey questions concerning the physical, the visual and cultural relations we all have with this quintessential need. With my wide knowledge of numerous culinary traditions, I pick out one or the other anthropological feature around which I create my artistic settings. My artistic material goes from the plain physical qualities (textures, colors, shapes, smells, tastes and sounds) to the cultural codings that in-form the deeply rooted social context through which one approaches food. My purpose is to create a context in which food is not just consumed in an almost oblivious state but rather unfolds or unravels its manyfold and latent implications.
