Two stretched paintings on linen.
Two Paintings for a First Snow... February 13, 2007: aerosol, enamel, gold & sizing on linen with customized easels,
hardware and frozen sand...
Each day is an an engagement between thought and matter. Past, present and future exist as one moment always. Fragile & permanent without contradiction. Our symbols provide us with an architecture for love. Today's activity appeared from the desire to let some paintings live beyond the walls... publicly, without fanfare and incident, as is. I offered them to the properties of chance and being, here, in front of my apartment. My realm and not. I made them in the day as the skies grayed for snow. Placed out in twilight, I secured them for the night. Morning came on Valentine's Day and they were gone. Taken by hands. So
I made new ones....
