"FRAGMENTS OF A GREAT NARRATIVE
In 1975 shortly before my family and I left for the United States, I took these photographs of relatives who stayed in Odessa, Ukraine. Thirty years later I developed the prints in New York City, and around the same time I took a picture of the feet of passers-by during the 2005 Thanksgiving Day Parade near Columbus Circle."
