SHEILA ROSS

"Using traditional art and everyday materials, including plastic sheeting and masking tape, I meld imagery culled from Western and Eastern traditions, including geometric abstraction and Islamic art, architectural sources from the 19th and 20th century New York landscape and Ottoman traditions, into drawing installations and miniature inspired drawings. The work has taken form most recently as large digital drawings that have been installed into a prefab yurt like structure, but have also taken form as a series of small drawings, larger scrims and duct taped plastic enclosed “shelter in place” safe rooms."
