In May 2001, I had a dream that my work was destroyed in a fire. I wondered how would I paint fire. I began some drawings to put down as quickly as I could my ideas. Untitled Drawing, 2001, is one example. The painting Mirror on a Red Background, 2007, presents a fragment of an image captured in an oval mirror nearly obscured by a drapery and fire.
